A very strong earthquake of 6.8 magnitude rocks at 6:12 pm Sikkim on 18-September 2011, Darjeeling, Kolkata and North East of India. The epic center of the earthquake was only 60 km from the state capital city of Gangtok.  Almost all the telecommunication to the area like Sikkim, Darjeeling is disrupted because of the earthquake. Several cracks in the walls has been reported in the affected area of the earthquake. It has been also reported that the service of the electricity also disrupted of the Darjeeling and other affected cities.
