Varanasi - India.

Varanasi is one of the most important Hindu sacred city of India. It is known all over the world for its cultural importance. Vanarasi is also known as Benars and Kashi: the name Vanarsi is derived from the two rivers namely Varuna and Ashi which meets with each other in Varanasi. Varanasi is situated on the bank of Ganga river from about 5000 years and has long historical background.

Varanasi is also known as the city of lord Shiva and city of Ghats. According to the hindu traditional belief the followers of Hinduism come to Varanasi in their last days to achieve salvation or mokscha. In simple words people believe that those who die in the city of Varanasi will go directly to the haven and will not be anymore part of the cycle of rebirth. The well known Manikarnika Ghat where funerals  take place 24x7 is close to the famous Dashasumedh ghat where the Ganga arti takes place every evening.
